I am a Christian—joyful, grateful, and thankful every day. I was born in Panamá City, Panama, of Caribbean descent. I moved to Florida at age 14, then to New York City at 18, and after about 39 years, I returned to Florida.
I am always very conscientious of what the word Christian truly means. Though my imperfections sometimes get the better of me, I strive daily to live a life that reflects Christ. Jesus the Christ represents only goodness—with balance.
For 35 years of my time in NYC, I worked as a corporate banker on Wall Street. That chapter of my life was a significant and enriching journey—one filled with learning, growth, maturity, and, yes, suffering—but also with plenty of joy and fun along the way.
Despite all that, I often felt lonely in NYC. I had aunts, uncles, and a few cousins there, but I missed my parents and siblings in Florida. During those years, the closest thing I had to family was the body of the church. The teachings I received there were rich, deep, challenging, and transformative. The preached Word nourished my soul—and still does. Being part of many church activities and surrounding myself with like-minded believers was incredibly uplifting. The church was a place where I could be alone while still surrounded by people a blessing for someone like me who is both private and deeply engaging when around others.…
I was honored to be selected as part of the church leadership, which opened the door to many valuable experiences: travel, seminars, luncheons, meeting fascinating people, and earning the respect of many.
Outside of church, my next great passion was tennis. I played every chance I got—after church, after work, and on Saturdays. I loved the game and played fiercely. No punches pulled—it was pure fun.
At home, I also enjoy relaxing with a good movie or playing Scrabble on my phone when I feel bored.
This book came to me through obedience to God, guided by the Holy Spirit. I now see that my entire life’s journey has prepared me to write it. My hope is that many will read it daily, meditate on the words—especially their birthday message—and find incredible joy and peace in their soul, spirit, and mind.
Law #1: Love God, your Creator.
Law #2: Love your neighbor.
(Your neighbor is everyone on the planet.)
Follow these two laws. Read the Bible—using my book as a guide to help navigate it—and as you make this a habit, it will become second nature. In doing so, you will discover joy, happiness, guidance, direction, peace, excitement, motivation, transformation, and a deeper purpose for living—until your day of transition.
It will have been a truly wonderful and amazing journey to your destination.
CMS. Amen!!!!
